The Ice Is Thawing

He holds my hand tightly in his as we lie together in front of the fire, his lovely brown eyes staring into mine. He whispers in my ear, telling me that his love is eternal... and I believe him. For his love has begun to thaw the wall of ice that I’ve built up around my heart; the wall that no one else has ever been able to penetrate. I lift my head, press my lips to his in a soft kiss, and hear a rough purr come from his throat. His arm encircles me, pulling me closer and together we get lost in our sea of blankets.

2007-04-26 Eleanor: This is a beautiful image. I think you want to use the word lie instead of lay in the first sentence. It makes more sense, the other makes none. Nice piece.

2007-04-29 Morningstar Rising: Beautifully done, I can see it. Yea the word lie would be the right word to use.

2007-05-01 Jenna Rose: I always have issues with those 2 words. Thanks!

2007-05-01 Morningstar Rising: I have troubles with words that sound alike, so I always have my dictionary handing, has helped me more times then I can tell. LOL

2007-05-01 Jenna Rose: I should start doing that ^^

2007-05-04 Morningstar Rising: its a good idea, especially if you have trouble like I do.
